that's not a real thing.
I was talking with a client yesterday and we were joking around about that.
They aren't going to make that show.
Our lives are mostly pretty boring.
No big-time drama that can be used as a
season ending cliffhanger.
This show would be more like
watching us run around like
chickens with our heads cut off, remembering
we will be getting home late from soccer practice
and need to throw a meal in the crockpot.
Just every day boring crap like that, over and over.
People would totally stop watching mid-season...
Oh, who am I kidding? People would stop watching mid-episode.
And that's actually what happens to us with our own lives.
We get in this rather monotonous routine of work and family
obligations, and we stop watching what's going on in our own life.
We try to numb out the fact that we aren't doing much of anything
for fun anymore. How we used to have dreams, and passions, and
a drive to live on purpose.
And now we are going through the motions with a deep need
for coffee in the morning, because we don't sleep well at night,
a drink after work because we are stressed and need to relax,
and food through out the day to salve our emotional ache that
we likely don't even realize we have.
We are so literally The Walking Dead.
So on top of stressful work pressures, we then try to pile
on some more obligations by going on a diet, and signing up
for yet another fitness class.
And what happens is you feel good...for a little, teensy bit
But then, for some reason that really pisses you off, because
you are a successful woman that knows how to get shit done, dammit,
you can't seem to stick with the program.
You were getting some results but then, it became harder to stick to it.
Let me tell you, no one else can print you off a cookie-cutter program
of exercise and diet plans. No one else can have YOUR permanent
YOU HAVE TO DO THE WORK TO FIGURE THIS OUT.
I know, you dive deep into your work, you are the one telling
staff how to do things.
So when you reach out for guidance, you kind of just want
someone to tell you what to do. Make it simple for you.
It's more complex than that. Sorry. I know you signed up
for an easy answer.
"Just show up and make me do a workout!" you said to the trainer.
"Just tell me what to eat and not eat" you said to the nutritionist.
Right? And how did that work for you?
Yes, of course, it is beneficial to enlist a coach, to avail yourself
of the wisdom they have to share. But honestly, end of the day,
you know a whole lot of what you "should" do.
You just aren't doing it.
And the best method to overcome that is to dive into your very
own specific preferences, needs, desires, and blocks to devise a
plan DESIGNED JUST FOR YOU,
>>>>a plan that does not make you feel more stressed<<<<
